The heat is on! We must all stay hydrated - and that doesn't mean drinking lots of water! Eating high-water content foods such as watermelons and cucumbers can give the skin a nice summer glow.
1. Watermelon - Watermelon is full of water and potassium, which helps to restore fluid balance in the body and helps you stay hydrated. It is made up of approximately 92% of water. Plus, and entire cup of cubed watermelon only has 46 calories in it!
2. Cucumber - Cucumbers provide Vitamin C, Silica, Potassium, and Magnesium. Silica helps build strong muscles, tendons and bones. Cucumber also helps reduce excess water weight.
3. Mint - Mint is great for digestion and it is a great cleanser for the blood. Crushed mint leaves can help whiten your teeth and combat bad breath!
4. Coconut - Coconut contains electrolytes which keep your energy up all day!
5. Pistachios - Unlike some proteins, such as fatty meats, pistachios won't clog your arteries because they contain heart-healthy fat and are packed with antioxidants to help your body from damage.
